If there's anyone who knows the highs and lows of being a Real Housewife, it's Jill Zarin. From picking out $3.7 million rings with her husband Bobby to that fateful day on Scary Island, she's seen it all. In her recent interview with The Daily Dish Podcast, the former Housewife weighed in on all the drama, and highlighted how she thinks Luann D'Agostino has made it through nine seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City. She even explained why all those Tom rumors just don't seem to bother the former Countess.
Looking back, life on RHONY hasn't always been exactly diamonds and rosé — but it should — for Luann. With rumors of an open marriage to this moment in the Berkshires last season. As a close pal to this day, Jill weighed in on how Lu has stayed above it all. "There was the Bethenny Frankel/Jill alliance, right? Then there was Ramona Singer who couldn’t stand that Bethenny and I were an alliance and wanted to get in there. Then there was Luann who was literally and continues to be Teflon, completely. Nothing sticks to her. It slides off."
Jill explained that in the early seasons, she would attempt to gossip with Luann to no avail. "Either we were watching or filming and I would get into it with her and she’d be like, 'Can we just talk about something else please?' And she’s like, 'You know, it’s like work. I don’t really want to talk about that.'" Still, Jill would press on. "I asked her, I said, 'Don’t you ever cry? Does it ever get to you?' And no, not really because she takes it as a job. It’s work. She can protect herself. She always did." This even extends to social media haters. "She wouldn’t read Twitter; she wouldn’t read the stuff. She wasn’t into social media back then, now she is more, but back then she was like she didn’t see it, she didn’t hear it, she didn’t know it, it was all good."
No wonder Luann has been able to take all the Tom allegations in stride.
That's Teflon if we've ever seen it.
